Sims and Their Animals: Headshot

I've returned from my summer job (more on that in another post, I promise I'll make a personal post soon since I know it's been a while!) and hopping back into modelling comps! Sims and Their Animals is a pretty self-explanatory name. This is my model headshot! Her name is Meredith Russo.

Fashionography: Assignment 5

This assignment was yet another intriguing challenge! We had to place our models underwater doing an everyday activity, showing pieces of their outfit floating and reflecting on the water's surface above.

I chose doing laundry as my activity. Looking at the finished product kind of makes me want to laugh! She's so elegant, with her bell bottom floating in the water, ribbon wavering, hair pulled back by the current, staring wistfully off into the distance, and she's sitting on... a dryer? lmao

I really love the outfit for this one so I think I might do some for-fun pictures with it after this comp is over!!

Fashionography: Assignment 4

This assignment is called Big Girls Tiny Places! We had to photoshop our sims to appear stuck or trapped in a small space.

A lot of the work on this one went into making it look like gravity is a present force, then some lighting and shadows to really integrate her into the space. I had to fix some proportions too because this pose originally had her back hunched unnaturally high and her shoulder was super jacked up. All in all pretty proud of this one!!

Fashionography: Assignment 3

Assignment 3 is called Highlight of My Neon Life, requiring the use of neon makeup and neon lights with the correct lighting colour reflecting on the skin!

It took some fighting but I got the coloured lighting effects to work in-game so I didn't have to fight with it in photoshop after the fact! I ended up loving this outfit way more than I expected so I might take some other pictures with it and edit those ones for fun :)

Fashionography: Assignment 2

Assignment 2's theme is The Future is Always Better!! Futuristic outfit and setting with a mechanical/metal animal.

I fought with the pose for ages on this one, and I'm so glad to finally have it done x.x Space horse!!!!! I don't feel comfortable taking too many outside elements and plopping them all together quite yet (this is only the second photo I've ever done without an in-game background) so I used Create-a-Pet with some CC to make this kickass metal horse. This assignment pushed me into a lot of uncharted territory so aside from the issues picking poses I had a lot of fun with it!!

Fashionography: Headshot and Assignment 1

I signed up for another modelling comp, Fashionography!! Here's my headshot and first assignment

Assignment 1, I'm the Boss!! Asked for a powerful seated pose using a suit or suit-like outfit.

Both of these, I wish I had more editing time :( I got caught up in getting my school term finished, then with reading the Homestuck Epilogues (which certainly are a thing that exist now, still need to sort out all my feelings on those) and I didn't have much time to finish. As it is, I'm working on borrowed time, since everyone was given a 24hr extension. Thankfully no eliminations since it's just the first round. I'll put my all into the next one!!

CC CREDITS

Sim: hair, blush, lipstick, earrings (still can't find >:( ), necklace, suit

Defaults: eyes, eye shadow, face, skin

Who Wore It Better: Assignment 6

This assignment we got to use whatever we wanted so long as either the top or bottom was base game, and the other clothing piece was EA.

I found a neat motorcycle pose set that I wanted to use, so I did some research on proper motorcycle gear and dressed her up ready to rise, sans helmet! She's watching the sunset :)

Rest in peace, my love.

Today we had to put my dog down. If you've ready my last life update, you will know that in December, after noticing rapid weight loss and loss of mobility and mental functioning, we took my dog to the vet and it was determined that she likely had a cancer that was consuming all of the muscles in her body, alongside canine dementia. She'd been a bit leaky for a while but yesterday evening my brother went to help her get up and she was bleeding from her back end. It continued to bleed intermittently overnight and into the next day. We called the vet and she went in at 3:00pm today. My dad and my brother took her to the vet and I couldn't go with them. My mom was downtown taking care of my nunnu so she couldn't go either. I feel bad that she didn't get to say goodbye but she said she took care of her this morning and made her peace with that.

She was almost 12 years old. She lived a long life for a collie, and she might not have been around so long if my family wasn't able to take such close and loving care of her when she started getting sicker.

All growing up I begged and begged for a dog. I read every book in my school's library about dogs and I badgered my parents for ages. Finally, summer after my fourth grade year, they said we could get a dog but they had to choose the breed. I grew up with her. I remember running circles on the first floor with her when she was an energetic puppy and playing tug-of-war with her favourite chew toy and teasing her by tickling her face and paws. When I had sleepovers, she's come in and lye down on everyone's sleeping bags, and later when we got air mattresses she'd try to climb up on those too. One of her favourite places to sleep was tangled up in the vertical blinds in the kitchen. She chewed them up when she was a puppy, and broke so many in her sleep that we had to buy a new set. Then she broke a bunch of those ones, too. They're still up in the kitchen, bottoms reattached with packing tape. Her version of kisses was sticking her nose right in your face and sneezing. I woke up to that every day all the way through high school. Up into university, every summer when I've had to pack for camp she was right there helping me by lying down on top of all my things laid out on the floor.

I love her so much and the house feels empty now - the first floor at least, since she stopped being able to come up the stairs a while ago. Eventually she took to the front of the living room as her bedroom. Lying in front of that window was always one of her favourite spots, especially lying on the air vent for a cool breeze in summer and warmth in winter. That's where she was lying in the afternoon today, when I was petting her and giving her kisses while my dad and my brother were getting ready to leave. I stayed with her right up until she had to go. I watched my brother and my dad take her on her leash out to the car and lift her into the back for the last time.

I haven't posted a picture of her before but this is my sweet baby who I still called my baby right up until I said goodbye this morning, because fuck age, she's still my sweet little girl and always will be. This was taken in my backyard last October.

Rest in peace, my dear.

Who Wore It Better: Assignment 1

Here is the first assignment! I'm really glad this comp doesn't require editing, because all I had time for was tossing a few filters on >.< I'm pushing the deadline a lot as it is. Using Rosaline again partly to save time and partly because I really enjoy working with her! :)

Who Wore It Better: Application

I signed up for another modelling comp!! This time it's Who Wore It Better. Every round features a new item of clothing that everyone has to use, to see who can coordinate it most creatively using only clothes from the base game or expansion/stuff packs (CC hair and accessories allowed though). The application is just a headshot of whatever sim you want to represent you since there's no set model for this comp. Here's my headshot!!

I revamped my forum icon since it was just an unedited screenshot. I fixed up a few wonky mesh things, added my piercings, smoothed everything out and tada!!!!! Shiny new forum profile pic :)
